At the heart of the efforts by NE2SS is community development for all our peoples.”

Montana Two Spirit Society:

(Montana’s LGBT advocacy organization) and the Mondana Gay Men’s Task Force to conduct an annual two spirit gathering.  The mission of the Montana Two Spirit Society is to advocate, educate, and build community among Native and Indigenous peoples, including LGBTI and Allied communities, by sharing our two spirit histories and cultural traditions.  Our vision is to reclaim our two spirit traditions and heal past wounds as a way to create healthy Native and Indigenous two spirit communities.”

Tulsa Two Spirit Society:

We seek to affirm and embody positive traditional and modern Two Spirit identities, and in so doing, be valued members of our communities. Education, Cultural Preservation, and Advocacy are our goals and priorities, and we are happy to say that we are allied with similar organizations throughout Turtle Island!”

Native Out:
Native Out“NativeOUT was originally founded in 2004 as a social group named the Phoenix Two Spirit Society, by Corey Taber, Ambrose Nelson, and Victor Bain in Phoenix, Arizona. Although we are no longer a Two Spirit society, we support Two Spirit societies around the United States and Canada.  We are staffed by volunteers who fulfill our mission to: empower Indigenous LGBTQ/Two-Spirit people across North America to work for social justice in their communities, educate the world about the history and issues of Indigenous LGBTQ/Two-Spirit people, connect Indigenous LGBTQ/Two-Spirit people and groups with the International Two Spirit Movement, increase the visibility of Indigenous LGBTQ/Two-Spirit people and their allies, and support people and organizations in outreach to Indigenous LGBTQ/Two-Spirit people and their communities.

BAAITS logo“Bay Area American Indians Two-Spirits (BAAITS) exists to restore and recover the role of Two-Spirit people within the American Indian/First Nations community by creating a forum for the spiritual, cultural and artistic expression of Two-Spirit people.  BAAITS is a community-based volunteer organization offering culturally relevant activities for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Native Americans, their families and friends.  Bay Area American Indian Two-Spirits comes together to socialize, share and network in an alcohol and drug-free environment. BAAITS sees itself as an organization for Two-Spirit people to explore their rich heritage in a safe environment.”
